The Thoroughbred of Sin!

And he has done it, Once Again, Gentle Reader, with Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. As I told Mr. Reads this morning, only Joss could say, "Gosh, I am Rather Bored during this here writers' strike. Let me write a musical" that is, in This Humble Author's opinion, smarter and better produced, directed, and acted than 85% of television out there.

Having taught Buffy, Firefly, and Angel several times, I can say with Great Certainty that Joss Whedon is one of the greatest writers of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

And how.

Off to teach, Gentle Reader! Ciao!

You may be right, but he kind of suxored on my Runaways. I think his heart wasn't in it.

While I love it, I'm wondering - is he supposed to be writing during a writer's strike? :)

I was a bit disappointed in his Runaways, as well. While I enjoyed it, I think the big gaps between the issues affected the storyline for me a bit.

As The Scale notes, not for the studios. But for the fans? Indeed! :)

I'd love to have an eighteen hour discussion with you about all the flaws I perceive in Whedon's writing. I can't whole-heartedly commit to calling him one of the greatest writers etc. although I have an enduring love for those of his creations that I've watched and read, with the exception of five issues of Runaways (I'm behind) which were lackluster.

Err, not to drop in out of nowhere, or anything. I've been reading/lurking for a while.

I would Very Much enjoy that discussion! :) I do agree that his stint on Runaways was a bit less than his usual stellar writing, but Astonishing X-Men more than made up for it.

Drop in anytime, from anywhere, nowhere or otherwise. :)
